I would sum it up as a never-ending serenade to the current love of his life: the large language model and the agentic interactions he has with it while building his million-dollar distro.

The donations have puzzled some people. But I gotta say, this podcast made me even more convinced of Omarchy’s raison d’être and who the main beneficiaries will ultimately be. For the AI companies, David presents a strong offer: he’s building a distro from the ground up made for token maxxing.

Just an hour after finishing the podcast, I was browsing my feed reader and came across the Alibaba announcement via Phoronix.

With the announcement of Qwen Book, Alibaba is putting its ambition for the agentic computer into hardware. We’re going to collaborate on making Omarchy the ideal agentic operating system for that computer.

Michael Dell too got some decent value for his donation when David praised the Dell XPS and gifted Lex one.

I guess there’s usually a reason behind what tech-moguls say and do, even when they’re presenting themselves as the purely passionate guys.
